Here's the information you need to register:

Registration Fees:
Half Marathon: $50
5-Mile Run/Walk: $35
Kids' Fun Run: FREE

How to Register:
1. Click on the "Register" button in the sidebar of the blog.
2. Complete and submit the registration form that opens in a new window.
3. Make your check payable to Hearts in Heaven
4. Mail your check to:

If you'd rather fill out a hard-copy form and mail it in with your registration fee, click on the link underneath "PDF Registration Form" on the blog sidebar. It will take you to a website called SCRIBD, where you can easily download and print the registration form.

NOTE: All registration forms must be received by November 1, 2010.

Let's Get Started!

Welcome to Miles of Hope for Moms who Mourn!

Here's what this cause is about in a nutshell (if you're intrigued, keep reading below):

What: A half marathon, 5-mile run/walk, and kids' 1/2-mile fun run
Why: To honor, support, uplift, and encourage moms who have lost children due to miscarriage, stillbirth, death, etc.
Where: Lake Mills, WI (specific course TBD)
When: The morning of November 13, 2010
Who: Moms who have lost a child and the family and friends who support them!

Whether you'd like to run, walk, organize, volunteer on race day, or cheer on the sidelines, you're welcome to join us! We hope this run fills the great void that exists when it comes to acknowledging the grieving process that occurs when a mom loses a child. For the mourning moms out there, run with us, pray with us, and lay your burdens down at the foot of the cross. For the friends and family members who can't always find the words to say, this race could give you the chance to show your support with your actions instead.

Between now and November 13, this blog will serve as your source for information about the race. I (Stacy) will be posting your 8-week half marathon training schedule here. Don't be scared! We start by running only 2 miles! Training officially begins on September 19, so you've got some time to work up to 2 miles if you haven't run in a while.

While the training is important, 1 Timothy 4:8 says, "Physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." In the spirit of this verse, each training day is designed to begin with a devotion that you'll find posted right here in the blog. Once you're done reading the devotion for the day, use your prescribed running/training time to reflect, grieve, and connect with your Savior. It's your time, your process, your adventure, but your God is bigger than all of it. Thy will be done in all of us, Lord!
